I am immensely thankful to Fr. Fabian, our beloved Deacons and their wives for their loving care and support. I also had a lovely breakfast meeting with Bob Stephany and Dennis 0'Toole to take stock of things.
Having concelebrated all the Masses except one, I am fortunate have met almost 1600 people in our parish this week and your loving welcome. My first priority as your Pastor is to get to know you and your needs so that we can take care of it together and build an exciting future.
I also visited St. Alberts our Catholic High school and met with the officials to build a rapport with our school. This week we celebrate the National Catholic Schools Week across the nation and I want to offer my best wishes, support and prayers for all students, staff and parents for a bright future ahead. May parents and students make faith education and commitment to the faith community of Corpus Christi a great priority for a greater future for our Church.
I feel like I have reached a new promised land of Council Bluffs, full of promises. Please feel free to introduce yourself again and again until I pick up your names. As I understand that you have gone through some turbulent changes, I hope that with God's help and the generous support of all, more stability and continuity and growth can be achieved.
Let us invite the Spirit, love from the heart and celebrate Corpus Christi as our spiritual home. I am so excited to join with you in our adventure of unfailing love.
Blessings, Fr. Tom
