This is a spiritual ministry in which participants offer all their prayers, joys, and sufferings to God for the good of our parish, diocese, and the salvation of souls throughout the world. Individuals pledge to pray for our parish, our diocese, our nation, and our world on a regular basis. Anyone in the parish is eligible and welcome to be a member, but a particular invitation is given to all senior citizens and especially to our brothers and sisters who are homebound, sick, or handicapped. You are asked to pray regularly (daily, if possible) and offer your sacrifices and sufferings — as well as your joys — for the intentions of individuals and the church. You can continue the use the same spiritual exercises you are currently using. You will be provided a book of prayers — if you wish, you may incorporate some of these into your daily prayers. We will keep in contact with you and send you prayer requests which will give specific intentions according to the needs of individuals, the parish, the diocese, and the universal Church.
Kay Durfey will be in touch with you to arrange commissioning to the Ministry of Prayer and Praise team during a Mass or in your home, if needed. At that time, you will receive a Ministry of Praise prayer book, a prayer shawl, and a certificate of membership.
